VP of Sales North East

Tony Bhalla brings over 40 years of extensive experience in sales and business development to Carisam, where he has been a valued member since 1992. Throughout his tenure, Tony has held positions of increasing responsibility, currently he holds the position of Vice President of Sales at Carisam-Samuel Meisel. In this capacity, Tony oversees diplomatic sales across the USA and manages the cargo business handled through Carisam’s Baltimore office. Additionally, he directs Carisam’s duty-free retail operations based in downtown Washington DC.

Tony’s affinity for the diplomatic sphere traces back to his upbringing. Born into a family with ties to the Indian Foreign Service, Tony spent most of his growing years traveling, studying, and living in various countries across Europe, Asia and Africa. His move to the United States at the age of 22, and subsequent citizenship eight years later, further enriched his global perspective.

A passionate observer of international affairs and geopolitical dynamics, Tony actively engages with diplomatic corps stationed in the USA. His longstanding relationships with diplomats and dignitaries from around the world underscore his commitment to fostering international cooperation.

Tony holds a BA and MA in Political Science/International Relations, in addition to a diploma in UN Studies. His academic pursuits are further enriched by studies in hotel and catering management, reflecting his early career managing hospitality establishments in Washington DC and Pennsylvania. Beyond his professional endeavors, Tony maintains a keen interest in sports, having been a track and field athlete, and remains an ardent supporter of Philadelphia’s professional sports teams.
