David Granek

President

David Granek is the President of Carisam-Samuel Meisel. He has been employed by Carisam-Samuel Meisel for more than 40 years, steadily advancing through increasingly responsible roles and offering progressive leadership within the company. For the last 23 years, David has served as President, guiding the company through pivotal stages, including its integration into the esteemed Motta Family of Companies. Prior to this role, he spent 19 years as the founding CEO, establishing the bedrock upon which Carisam-Samuel Meisel thrives today.

David has been a steadfast figure within the Marine Hotel Association since its inception in 1985, serving as both an officer and board member. His contributions extend to the association’s Education and Scholarship committees, demonstrating his commitment to industry advancement and education.

At the heart of David’s leadership philosophy is the DNA of a ship chandler, the foundational element upon which all other parts of Carisam-Samuel Meisel have been built. He takes great pride in fostering a culture of unity, shared values and sense of family among his coworkers, which has enabled Carisam to evolve into a multifaceted organization renowned for its unwavering commitment to customer service, ethical practices, and deep market expertise.

Before joining Carisam, David gained valuable experience as a commercial loan officer at a prominent international bank. His educational background includes degrees in Economics and Business Administration. Additionally, David proudly served for three years in the US Army and is fluent in Korean.
